Each Councillor is 'responsible' for several roads in WIckham Bishops, reporting problems, undertaking the annual litter pick, and so on. You can view the list of roads covered by each Councillor by clicking this link:
Although it may appear that some have more than others, the list has been created so as to allocate around 90 addresses to each Councillor.
Cllr Ian Wardrop - Chairman Ian joined the Council in 2013. He has lived in the village since 1984 and in 2005 retired early after many years working for one of London's largest public sector organisations. He is currently a trustee of a small charity in Braintree. He can often be seen walking the family's rescue lurcher in and around the village. As well as Speedwatch Coordinator, Ian is a member of the Planning Committee and the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group.

Cllr Henry Bass Henry has lived locally all his life, he was elected to the Parish Council in 1976, has been Chairman on several occasions and has a particular interest in planning matters and an active member of the village hall committee for 34 years. He is a member of the Library Strategy Working Group and Chairman of the Planning Committee.

Cllr Peter Bates Peter joined the Council in May 2012. He has lived in Wickham Bishops for over 30 years and was previously the I T Manager at a local secondary school. Peter is also the Editor of the Wickham Bishops Parish Magazine, and Secretary of the local Horticultural Club. His specific areas of responsibility are to maintain and develop the Parish Council website, and to publicise and report on Council activity. |

Cllr Pete Layley Moved to the village from Chelmsford in 2013 for a bit of peace and quiet, married to Pam since 1965 (three sons, five Grandchildren and one Great-granddaughter). Took early retirement from Ford Motor Co. Ltd in 2003 after forty years as an engineer, working both at Ford and Jaguar Cars. Passed motorcycle IAM test, RoSPA Diploma and assisted Essex Police as an assessor on their Bikesafe initiative. Hence a keen interest in road safety. Pete was co-opted to the Parish Council in 2020 and has responsibility for Amenities and Public Transport. He is a member of the Speedwatch team. |

Cllr Mandy Mickelsen Mandy is an Arts graduate and Chartered Public Sector accountant. She has lived in the village for over 30 years, and brought up two children here. Retired from paid employment now, Mandy has been a Councillor since 2007. She was heavily involved in the production of the Village Design Statement and the Parish Plan; is now on the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group and is Chair of the Finance Committee.

Cllr Jane Williams Jane has a Zoology degree, an M.A. in Education Management and an MSc in Animal Welfare. She has been employed in the education sector, and has been a consultant since 2001, both in education and now as an animal behaviourist and trainer. She has lived in the village since 1993. Jane joined the council in 2017 and Chaired the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, until the Plan’s formal adoption in May 2021. She is the council's BHSA Trustee and is currently leading the Wickham Bishops Biodiversity Project. Jane is also part of the Finance Committee.
