Wickham Bishops is a small village in the county of Essex with a population of just over 2000 residents. The village is approximately 3 miles from Witham which offers a main line station with services to London and Ipswich. Witham is also within easy access to the A12.

The village enjoys good amenities such as a Church, new Village Hall built in 2006 (which accommodates approximately 15 various clubs and a new Children's Play Ground), the Library, General Store with Post Office, Hairdressers, Sign Business, Health Food Shop, Beauty Treatments Salon, Vehicle Repair Garage and Car Showroom, Estate Agent, Doctors Surgery and 2 public houses serving food. There is also a 17 acre Sports Field with a Cricket Club, Football teams ranging from 6yrs to veterans and Tennis Courts.

Wickham Bishops was awarded Best Kept Village in 2008 (Class 2: 2000 population), and the new Village Hall gained a Design Award from Maldon District Council in 2008.
